Pomeranians descend from Arctic sled dogs and behave like it - confident, busy and convinced they are much larger than three kilograms. They are quick learners and enjoy performing, which makes trick training a natural outlet.
They are also one of the most talkative breeds we place. Early work on doorbell and lift-lobby barking pays for itself many times over.
Care essentials
- Brush the double coat two or three times weekly and never shave it - regrowth can come back patchy.
- Supervise around small children; the bones are genuinely fragile.
- Dental care and knee checks are the two things to stay ahead of.
